Cairo Cowboy needed a consistent visual style for its restaurant menu boards and promotional door hangers, working from an existing logo and a preferred black-and-yellow color palette.
The owner envisioned a traditional chalkboard aesthetic, which I adapted into a cleaner, more structured layout to accommodate an extensive menu of Mediterranean dishes, pizzas, and burgers.
Against a dark charcoal background, white typography kept the menu readable while bright yellow accents highlighted key information and helped distinguish ordering options. I created outline-style food illustrations inspired by chalk drawings, using them sparingly to add character without competing with the menu's content. Particular attention went into organizing the many items, descriptions, and customization options into a hierarchy customers could navigate without feeling overwhelmed. The door hanger carried the same typography, illustrations, and color treatment into a smaller promotional format, maintaining consistency across both applications. The result balances the restaurant's playful character with the practical demands of presenting a substantial amount of information clearly.
